A family-friendly park of quiet lakes, open skies, and easy days outside.
Norbury Lake Provincial Park sits just south of Fort Steele, where Peckham’s Lake and Norbury Lake meet forested shoreline and wide valley views. The Steeples rise along the skyline as you arrive, setting the tone for a place that feels open, calm, and well suited to slower days.
Campsites are spread out and approachable, making the park a good fit for families and longer stays. Beach areas invite swimming and water play, while gentle walking trails loop through the grounds. Peckham’s Lake is a popular spot for fishing, with rainbow trout commonly found in its clear water.
The campground operates seasonally, with full services available from late spring through early fall, though the gate remains open outside peak season. With the Kootenay Fish Hatchery in Wardner just a short drive away, Norbury Lake Provincial Park works well as both a destination and a base for easy day trips.
