About

Moyie Lake

A wide, sandy shoreline and open water that feels more coastal than alpine.

Moyie Lake stretches out south of Cranbrook with a long, sunlit shoreline that often feels closer to an ocean beach than a mountain lake. On warm days, the sandy shore fills with swimmers, picnickers, and people content to stay put and watch the light move across the water.

The lake suits a range of activity. Calm conditions are ideal for swimming and paddling, while steady breezes make it a popular spot for sailing and windsurfing. Speedboats and watersports are permitted, giving the lake an active, open feel without losing its laid-back rhythm.

Moyie Lake Provincial Park provides easy access with a day-use area and a campground that includes hot showers. Fishing is part of the draw as well, with kokanee and lingcod commonly caught. Whether you’re on the water or stretched out on the beach, Moyie Lake offers space to slow down and stay awhile.
