Hiking

LACE UP.

With the Rockies on one side and the Purcells on the other, Cranbrook sits in good company. Trails rise from valley floor to alpine, winding through forest, across open slopes, and up toward wide views. Fisher Peak stands along the skyline, steady and unmistakable, drawing hikers upward one switchback at a time.

Routes range from short walks close to town to full mountain days that test your legs and lungs. Some follow old railbeds. Others lead to tarns, waterfalls, or lookout points with a clear view of the Kootenay River below. Whatever your pace, know before you go. Many trailheads are reached by active forest service roads, so drive with care and give working vehicles the space they need. Then shoulder your pack and start climbing.
