About

Firehall Kitchen & Tap

Housed in Cranbrook’s original Fire Hall No. 1, this gastropub pours the spirit of the Kootenays straight into your glass, twenty taps deep in BC craft beer.

Fire Hall Kitchen & Tap, often known locally as FHK&T, is a craft beer focused tap house and gastropub located at the feet of southern British Columbia’s Rocky Mountains. Built around a love of quality food, great beer, and community, this spot has become a favourite gathering place for locals and visitors alike after a day spent skiing, biking, hiking, paddling, or exploring the region.

The idea for Fire Hall Kitchen & Tap grew from a desire to bring a specific dining experience to Cranbrook, one that blends fun, thoughtful food, strong drink selection, and authentic Kootenay character. The founders set out to create the kind of place they wanted to spend time in themselves, and it shows in both the atmosphere and the menu. The result is a space that feels casual and welcoming, while still offering carefully crafted dishes and a deep appreciation for local producers.

Beer is at the heart of the experience, with 20 taps dedicated exclusively to British Columbia craft breweries. The rotating selection highlights the diversity of the provincial beer scene and offers something for every palate, from crisp lagers to hop forward ales and rich seasonal pours. The food menu is designed to complement the beer, making it easy to settle in for a meal, a flight, or an extended visit with friends.

Fire Hall Kitchen & Tap is housed in the historic Fire Hall No. 1, a building that has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its heritage while giving it new life. Original character details are paired with modern design elements, creating a space that feels both rooted in history and ready to tell new stories. Fire Hall No. 1 lives on as a place where community gathers, ideas are shared, and good food and craft beer bring people together.
